Thai cuisine is Senior Catering + Event Producer, Maggie Millan Padron‘s favorite. So naturally, she chose to share a Thai inspired cocktail recipe. She partnered up with Jason Lough, one of RVA’s favorite bartenders, who created the following recipe for a signature Thai Moonlight cocktail as an Eventspiration for our clients.
- 2oz. Clemente Martinique Rhum Agricol
- ½ oz. lemongrass simple syrup(see recipe below)
- ½ oz. fresh lime juice
- 6-8 Thai basil leaves
- 1” thick slice of peeled cucumber
Combine all ingredients with ice and shake very hard. Strain through fine mesh conical strainer into cocktail coupe. Garnish with cucumber and Thai basil rose.
Lemongrass Simple Syrup:
- 1 cup water
- 2 stalks lemongrass, cut up
- 1 cup white sugar
Bring water to a boil and steep lemongrass stalks for 15 minutes. Strain, then add sugar.
