Thai Moonlight Cocktail Recipe


Thai cuisine is Senior Catering + Event Producer, Maggie Millan Padron‘s favorite. So naturally, she chose to share a Thai inspired cocktail recipe.  She partnered up with Jason Lough, one of RVA’s favorite bartenders, who created the following recipe for a signature Thai Moonlight cocktail as an Eventspiration for our clients.

Thai Moonlight 

Ingredients:

  • 2oz. Clemente Martinique Rhum Agricol
  • ½ oz. lemongrass simple syrup(see recipe below)
  • ½ oz. fresh lime juice
  • 6-8 Thai basil leaves
  • 1” thick slice of peeled cucumber

Directions:

Combine all ingredients with ice and shake very hard. Strain through fine mesh conical strainer into cocktail coupe. Garnish with cucumber and Thai basil rose.

Lemongrass Simple Syrup:

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 stalks lemongrass, cut up
  • 1 cup white sugar

Directions:

Bring water to a boil and steep lemongrass stalks for 15 minutes. Strain, then add sugar.
